Day That Required Mental Toughness...

This morning I woke up tired. I fogot to take my "Tylenol PM" at bedtime. I was so tired, I fell asleep without it, even with the fireworks going every five seconds continually.

As soon as I woke up, I realized why I hurt. I have rheumatoid arthritis (RA), and the drug helps me sleep and not feel so stiff in the a.m.

I woke up around 5, stayed in bed until about 6:15. For the first time in a really long time, I didn't feel like working out. I only had to swim, but it was going to be a tough one: 250 wu; 1000 time trial; 1000 easy pace; 350 cool down. 2600 meters--UGH!

Made it to the pool by 7:20. Had a great chat with Waddler! You go girl! Can't wait to see how great you do at Steelhead.

Started out slow; started feeling good halfway through the first 1000; the second 1000 went really well. I did the cool down in the outside pool--the water was actually cooler than inside and the sun was wonderful! Total swim time: 1:06; AHR 118; Zone 2-3; 533 calories.

Felt much better after the swim. After breakfast, I actually worked on the "landscaping". This consists mostly of half-dead bushes and lots of weeds. I pulled all the weeds, trimmed the bushes, and my husband put down some more rocks. It actually looks better! YEAH! I CAN do more than swim, bike, run, eat and sleep!

Need to sleep, take my PM drug and get ready for a 10-mile run in the a.m. Hope I feel better tomorrow!

Until next time, God bless!

Welcome to the world of crazy menopausal Iron Women! Will be following your journey to IMKY. I have some friends that did it and said it was their favorite Iron distance race (they have done many).
